400 TT 6;33

I believe this is a PR. I am really happy and someday I will get it down to a straight 6. I was tired, but not too crazy. Breathing was a bit off, but until I master flip turns that is going to happen.

Eagleman prediction

swim 33 min Trans 1 2 min Bike 2:23 Trans 2 1 min Run 1:28 4:31 prediction time. Swim - can be a huge variance, but I am thinkng 33 minutes. Better swimmer this year, but no wetsuit.

First race of the year confusion

I know I am in a good place, but the doubts creep in from time to time. Pretty standard for my first race of the year. I am glad I have a bunch of 3 hour plus rides under my belt and my run has to be stronger. Not running long has me a bit nervous, but not too bad. My longest run is 1 hour. The good thing is that I have really long bricks logged. Last year I would get a 15 min brick run one day and a 1.5 hour run the next day. Now I am running 40 min bricks and 50-60min run the following day. I would say I am actually running more distance, just spread out. According to WKO I am in better shape now than I was for Timberman. Hard for me to believe seeing how it is May. That was by far my best race, so I am pretty psyched to be where I am at. My weight has creeped up to 154.4, so I am little bummed about that. Not sure how much more I could lose though. Muscle mass is weight up in my legs. So the extra pound could just be from that.

Weight 153.3

I got down around 152 for a couple weeks, but shot back up to 153.3. I need to start cutting back on calories at night and that should take care of any extra weight.

Zone 1 on bike 190 watts!

I thought maybe my powertap was off, but I am prety sure it is accurate. Huge breakthrough for me. I've never pushed those kind of watts and felt comfortable. Not sure what my target watts will be yet, but I am thinking 200?! Pretty exciting!

800s at 13:50

Really solid swim today, definitely a PR. I had a huge flaw with my left arm that I have been addressing. It is by no means perfect, but getting considerably better. I need to look back and see past times, but pretty sure it will be closer to 15 min. My average for 100s is no 1:45 and it was closer to 1:55 a year ago. Not sure what the swim will bring at Eagleman, but I do believe that if I can wear a wetsuit there is no question a 32 or less is possible.
